Hermès Birkin
The Birkin is a structured top-handle bag with a turnlock closure, protective base studs, and a clochette holding the padlock and keys. Size is quoted in centimetres of base width. Leather choice drives both price and practicality: Togo and Clemence are grained and forgiving, Epsom holds structure and resists scratching, and box calf is beautiful but unforgiving. Completeness matters more here than in any other model — clochette, padlock, both keys, rain cover and dust bag all affect value.
